I believe child soldiers are victims because they are too young to make adult decisions. When child soldiers are recruited they are forced to join and they don’t get the chance to really think about what had happened. Children are often recruited because they are easy to manipulate. When kids don’t do what they're asked by the adults they get punished and drugged so they cooperate. Kids of the ages of 17 and younger are usually the ones recruited because they are not officially adults.
People often portray child soldiers as perpetrators. They think regardless of the child’s age, or state of mind, they should be held accountable for what they did. But they are children, they are children that should not be blamed for their actions.Their actions were forced. They are under adult influence and threats. They know they have to obey orders or they’ll get killed or tortured, so why should they held accountable? “In the last ten years over two million children have been killed, over one million orphaned, over six million have been left seriously injured or permanently disabled and over 10 million have been diagnosed with psychological trauma.” The drugs and alcohol that people gave them make the children become more enabled to commit acts of war which they never would have done before. Do you think children would waste their lives or hurt themselves on purpose during the war with their own free will? “Under drugs and many other manipulative things they would do anything even risk their lives because they can’t control themselves. However, once they are recruited the children become over reliant on their commanders for shelter, money, water, drugs and alcohol that they find an extreme difficulty to leave. Children at that young age will rarely ever have the same understanding as an adult.” Children should be at home doing homework and eating dinner with their family. They should be hanging out with friends, and watching tv. Children should not be drinking alcohol and taking drugs, they should not be forced to carry guns, they should not be forced to do any of these disgusting things.

Starting in the 1950s two men named Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X started to stand up for themselves and the rest of the african american society. They were frustrated with being treated so poorly. They wanted a better life for the future generation. Though both of them wanted civil rights they had different views of how to go about it. Martin Luther King Jr. didn't think that violence was the answer. He also looked forward for the future and didn't dwell in the spot that he was in. Malcolm X was actually quite different from Martin Luther King Jr. in that respect. Malcolm was rather angry that they weren't fighting enough. He thought it was a cause that was definitely worth fighting for. Opposing from MLK’s thoughts, Malcolm X felt like he was stuck in a very dark time and he didn't mention too much about the future. Overall MLK and Malcolm X were both fighting for the same thing, civil rights, but they had two very different views on it. Kayla Ellis It was 6:20 A.M when Lisa came and woke Kayla up for school. Kayla got dressed and brushed her teeth. She went down stairs for breakfast and Lisa, her mom, was staring straight at the tv while the news was on. As Lisa was doing the laundry Kayla was watching the news with the same expression Lisa had earlier. On the news they said, “SUV crashes into Sub Shop”, with a panicked voice. When Kayla saw what it said she didn't know what do, what to say or how to react. She didn't know if it was Greiner's or another Sub Shop so she didn't do a thing till, Lisa walked in and saw the TV. “What? Is that Greiner's?!”, said Lisa. “I don't know”, Kayla said. Lisa started making calls to Tina, but she wasn’t picking up so Lisa got in the car and drove to the shop and found out that Tina is being hospitalized. Tina was being taken out of the shop into an ambulance, she was found under the debris of the crash. She was so shocked when she heard this. So Lisa drove back home in quite a hurry, when she came back home she told Kayla that she was going to the hospital. Kayla said to her mom, “Can I go with you I want to know if she’s ok!”. “No you may may not, Kayla I know you are worried but you have school so get on the bus. I’m just going to see if she is okay.” Her mom said. Kayla got ready and headed for the bus. Lisa then got in the car and drove to the hospital. When she got to the ICU room that Tina was in she found Lucy, the owner of the shop as well. You can see that there was a worried face in her eyes. Tina is in a Coma! Two months after the accident Tina got out of the hospital and the shop was all cleaned out but still in the same condition. 6 months after the accident everyone is making progress and the shop is being totally redone the grand opening is coming soon and the special guest is Tina. |
